LEON & TAMI STIPES
The Morgan Family
SPOTLIGHT: LEON & TAMI STIPES | Silver Series Sweethearts
Leon and Tami have built their life on faith, family, and a lifelong love for team roping.
When these two Oklahoma love birds married 31 years ago, they blended their families and let the Lord build where horses, hard work, and strong values were part of everyday living. They raised their boys around the arena just as Leon's father had raised him, teaching them to earn their entry fees by working first, a lesson that helped shape successful careers, big wins across associations, and a deep respect for the sport that still carries through their family today.
While Leon handles the horsemanship side and producing the Silver Series Team Ropings, Tami is the steady voice and inviting smile behind the scenes. She does the books, announces, keeps the event running smooth, and makes sure every roper who walks up to the office feels seen and respected. Outside the arena, their lives stay grounded in church and community, caring for livestock, and enjoying being grandparents.
Their connection to 40 Plus Team Roping began through producing ropings in the eastern Oklahoma region, but quickly grew into something much greater. They describe the organization as family, a place where respect, fairness, and faith guide the way events are run. From thoughtful gestures like Mother’s Day surprises for the staff to decisions that prioritize church and family time, Leon and Tami believe it is the little things that make the biggest difference.
Today, their greatest joy is being reminded daily of God's goodness- from their marriage and raising their sons together to witnessing youngsters choosing Jesus as their Savior in children's ministry. For them, success is not measured only in buckles or payouts, it is building a community where ropers feel welcome, valued, and excited to come back. Jesus, family, and roping. That is the rhythm of their life, and it is the same heart they bring to every 40 Plus event they are part of.
